Snacks

Students are more successful learners when they are able to focus on the task at hand.  A mid-morning snack is a great way to keep our minds and bodies energized!  Please send your child to school with a water bottle (NO juice or soda, please) and a healthy snack.  Remember, Butterfield is a nut-free school.  Snacks need to be free of any nut products to ensure the safety of all Butterfield students.  Here are some healthy, yummy ideas:

*Cereal bars

*whole-grain crackers

*fruit

*cheese

*dry cereal, such as Cheerios

*pretzels

Birthdays

I love celebrating birthdays!  Feel free to send in birthday treats (store-bought and nut-free) on your child's special day.  Students who have a summer birthday can celebrate their 1/2 birthday (Example: if your child's birthday is July 8, we would celebrate his 1/2 birthday on January 8.)

Volunteers

I love, love, LOVE having parents volunteer in the classroom!  If you are able and willing, please let me know a specific day of the week or time that you are free to come in.  I do ask that thse dates be scheduled with me in advance so I can prepare ahead of time to best utilize your time in our classroom.
